ROBERT EUGENE BARKER SENTENCED

DOUBLE SPRINGS (May 9, 2007) - On Wednesday, May 9, 2007, Robert Eugene Barker (age 68) of 3005 Hoggle Ridge Road in Haleyville appeared before the Circuit Court of Winston County to be sentenced on four (4) counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. The Honorable Lee Carter sentenced Barker to 10 years in prison on each of the Sexual Abuse convictions. Three of the sentences were ordered to run consecutively (one after the other), and the fourth sentence was ordered to run concurrently. In addition to the prison sentences, Barker was ordered to pay court costs and a victim's assessment fee. The convictions followed a two-day jury trial in March. More >>>
